Friedrich Karl Waechter (born 1937 in Danzig, died 2005 in Frankfurt) was a German Cartoonist, Artist, children book author and theatre play author.

He got the nickname “magnificent Friedrich” already during his lifetime. He was one of the founders of the Satire Magazine Titanic.

Beside Waechter was famous for his artistically excellent books. His fine and brillant humour made his work outstanding. In his last years he focused on theatre plays mainly for a young audience.

Waechter died in 2005 from Lungcancer. Yesterday would have been his 75th birthday.
