Clashes with the police covered by NarPhotos Collective on Saturday July 13

Turkish police intervenes Istiklal Street firing water cannon and tear gas at hundreds of protesters when they gather to march to Taksim Square and Gezi Park after the press statement of TMMOB (The Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects). People gathered in Galatasaray to protest against a recently imposed law which blocked the authority of The Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects from its final approval authority on urban planning projects.

Earth Table – Istanbul

Thousands of protesters gathering to built an Earth Table from Galatasaray to Taksim Square, Istanbul. The Iftar is a collective form of breaking the fasting in Ramadan. While Turkish police blocked the entrance of Taksim Square and warned people to leave from the area the Earth Table was bşooming as a symbol for peace and coexistence of different life models.

‘This park is for Istanbul’s people’

said the Istanbul governor Hüseyin Avni Mutlu three hours before the park was closed again for the public.

Taksim Gezi Park, which has become the heart of the anti-government movement sweeping the nation, was briefly opened to public use today July 8 before access to the park was blocked again by police officers three hours later.
