Angela Fensch a German Photographer temporarily in Istanbul
Russian Dancer at Sultanahmet, 2015
About a month ago, Berlin based photographer Angela Fensch who is known for her portrait photography arrived in Istanbul with the Brandeburg BVBK Art Scholarship.
Angela started out as a photo model in the former GDR. But it didn’t take long, until she grabbed a camera herself.
Since then, Angela did many series in her photographic career. A few examples are portraits of composers, mothers and their children and mentally as well as physically handicapped people.
Now, Angela has been exploring the faces of Istanbul through her photo lens. Among others, she portrayed a man on a ferry or a boy in front of a Turkish clothing store.
Angela Fensch along with other artists will exhibit her artworks from 5 until 20 September 2015 at the exhibition Imagination and Orchestration BAUART Gallery, Istanbul, in the frame of a presentation of Istanbul based artists-in-residence programs, opening on September 5th at 11 am and organized by the Goethe-Institut, diyalog, BAUART Gallery and the InEnArt team.
The presentation and exhibition is a parallel event of the 14th Istanbul Biennial.
We are inviting everyone to dive into a variety of art installations, screenings and photography by international artists from Berlin, Zurich, Graz, Düsseldorf and Cologne.
